2025 Yebisu Garden Place Tower (Shibuya, Tokyo)

Centred on the stump of a Yakusugi cedar more than 1,000 years old, the garden lets you feel the strength of the tree. Acorn-bearing oaks, bird’s-nest fern, other ferns and moss evoke the rich forest of Yakushima, and in the water of a stone mortar to the right, medaka (Japanese rice fish) swim. The age-old satoyama scenery of Japan is mirrored in the office.
