Westin Garden

2013 The Westin Tokyo (Meguro, Tokyo)

An open garden of about 480 m² at The Westin Tokyo in Yebisu Garden Place. He was brought in when the hotel, returning to “European tradition and culture”, completely remodelled its outer garden, and he blended the scenery of Japan’s satoyama countryside into a European-style garden. Conceived as a ravine, it is covered on both sides with vertical gardens. The seasons turn here: tulips in spring, water lilies and crape myrtle in summer, autumn colour and the scent of herbs in autumn, camellia and sasanqua with birdsong in winter. Part of the garden that won a Gold Medal at Chelsea in 2012 is also recreated.
