  • 29 April 2026 · Art event with children from three children’s homes in the city

A hotel opened in 2020 in Hirooka, Kanazawa, a short walk from the west exit of JR Kanazawa Station. Its guest rooms come with kitchens, suited to longer stays as well, and since 2024 a corner of the lobby level has been open as a “Gallery Area” for exhibitions by craftspeople and young artists with ties to Ishikawa.

The works were hung in a long single row along a wall of vertical wooden slats, lit from below by lights at floor level. More works were placed on both sides of the lift lobby.

During the exhibition, on 29 April, about twenty children from three children’s homes in Kanazawa were invited to paint together with tiki, and their works were displayed in the hotel. The Hokuriku Chunichi Shimbun reported on the day in its edition of 30 April 2026.
